Sins@wikia - color scheme

Human eye cannot distinguish differences in blue well!

Please change the attrocious color scheme, dark blue text on black is unreadable, similar to yellow on white - it differs only in blue value of the RGB, and human eye have problems focusing on that.

It's a basic typographic rule!

Ya, I like the black if they can change the link colours to the same as here (Gold/Yellow). Try messaging an Admin in the wiki.

No need, I am the only active admin, I have been trying to make it better, I will see what I can do.

Edit: I just changed it to the closest I can get to the suggestion.

The Gold is much better you have on the main page now. I had a lot of eye strain trying to see the dark blue on black too.

I like how that page is now similar to the forum but I clicked another page and its still blue links? Can you not change the theme for the site and not just the page?

I used to be an admin of 2 gaming wikis but I started to spend to much time fixing vandalism.

You don't need to be the admin to edit the background color of a table

It's readable now.

Looks like all the tables need it as well. IIRC there was a standard template setup somewhere.

Yeah, the tables are a mess, just bear with me. I originally picked blue for the links because it is readable on the light colors. It takes a while for the link color to change, the links should all be the new orange by now.

See where it says Sins of a Solar Empire Wiki in the link color, to the left of the navigation bar, above articles, and below the top bar, that is the current text wordmark. I was thinking that a version of the pic you, myfist0, presented with Wiki below in the suitable text font and color would work great. It must be no more than a 250x65 pixels .png.

The Ships and Orbital Structures Navboxes, and the Headers on the Main Page, have been fixed for improved readability, the colors work a lot better now.

As for content, button pictures for things like the Proximity Mine Field and other things added in Entrenchment and Diplomacy are still needed. The Envoy Cruisers stats and ability buttons are needed. The Ship Abilities page has some of the worst offenders, it needs to be updated for Diplomacy, and the Orbital Structures page would be the best place to upload the Proximity Mine button. I would like to fix some of the past mistakes made in uploading button pics.

Been a long time since i edited wikis but shouldn't https://www.sinsofasolarempire.wikia.com/wiki/Main hold the info that is on https://www.sinsofasolarempire.wikia.com/wiki/Sins_of_a_Solar_Empire. I think the main page should be the game description with links to the expansions and other pages.

Edit: I found it under Main_Page not Main. Maybe delete Main or create a redirect.

 

I could do all those pics you need but IIRC I need to do 1 at a time or can you let me in to batch upload. I will categorize but someone else can edit the pages and tables. I have already uploaded lots of pics for my weebly, feel free to port any over to the wiki. http://soase.weebly.com/

I also started rendering the models in sins so I can get some great pics for the models.

Maybe we can add a few See Also links to the weebly like http://soase.weebly.com/movie-intros.html and http://soase.weebly.com/placing-mods.html are 2 big hit pages. Pick what you like. We can intermix the 2 sites if you like.

Placing links to external pages and having external pages link to the wiki really helps get the ranking up for search engines.

Actually there should be a Sins of Solar Empire Wiki page on the wiki itself and separate pages on the game and its expansions, I have done the second part but not the first.

I will add the external links. I will deal with Main.
