Impulse Update issue

I tried to run the patch availble on Impulse, but it says i do not have a valid cd key.   The key that the system has saved is incorrect, it does not match the one in my box.  Is there a way to correct this?

I am having major issues with installation.  I purchased, then installed the base game, then installed the expansion pack and now nothing works.  I uninstalled everything and now reinstalling without the expansion pack....I hope this works.

you have to upgrade to version 1.12 before you intall the x-pack
