I am working on the issues...

Tonight (4:28am so technically this morning) I'm hanging out on the GalCiv II forums between compiles.

The above is the issue editor for The Political Machine 2008.  In it, I must go through every conceivable issue, write a description and then put in the values.

The values on position are between -10 (strongly against) and positive 10 (strongly in favor). The other variable (new in this version) is how important the issue is which is on a scale from 1 to 10.

I also have the ability to go and create different values in different states. We have a lot of census and polling data to look at to come up with different values in the states. So it's going to be a long month.

You're a hard worker aren't you Brad?

Between this, further polish on Twilight of the Arnor, contributing to the development of the 1.1 Sins of a Solar Empire patch not to mention actually running Stardock as a company as well as your fatherly duties to your family...I will think twice before complaining about being busy.

Too bad this game is probably of non-interest to us European players.

But I guess a dose of reality between the sci-fi of GalCiv and the fantasy title is a welcome change for you guys.

We plan to actually have a Drengin scenario too

So, mister candidate, what is your position on slave pits? Build more, or build *lots* more?

I can tell it's early in the morning: "independent" is misspelled in the screencap.

I've played the game's predecessor (which came with my TotalGming.Net subscription at that time), and I certainly enjoyed it. It also taught me some bits about the US election system which I hadn't known before. But basically it was a very enjoyable, easy-to-get-into, well-designed game. The only thing that really bothered me was how Reagan was apparently seen as some sort of ultimate politician - that might actually be an American thing, I think. Then again, you can't deny that he was an *extremely* successful campaigner, even if you don't approve of his politics ...
