Coretta Scott King, widow of assassinated civil rights pioneer Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., passed away last nite at age 78.
She had been suffering with several medical problems over the last year or two of her life, and especially in the last few months of it.
She was a strong, but quiet, supporter of her husband during his time here on Earth, and worked seemingly tirelessly to help keep his legacy and memory alive since his untimely death. She moved more to the forefront and became more active in the fight for civil rights along the way, but always seemed to maintain a quiet dignity that commanded respect and put forth a great front for her cause.
While perhaps not as important to the civil rights cause as Rosa Parks, she was a great lady and should be remembered well.
