Hi, my name is Dave Drury I'm a veteran amongst Litestep, been using it for a long while. Now, recently I've had a major problem that I need fixed as soon as humanly possible. I've talked to everyone I can think of and searched everywhere. My last choice as a user is to come and ask amongst you. Maybe, just maybe someone else is having the problem or had the problem and was able to fix it.
Here's the situation,
About 4 weeks ago I reinstalled Litestep on my system after a long time away, it was running fine as it always has and every function worked.
Now it was like this for about two weeks when one day I logged on and opened up the right-click menu, and clicked "File Manager". I waited for the explorer to pop up, but for some reason it did not. I waited multiple times and finally went and checked my processes running. Everything was there and it had 5 different explorer.exe's running from the times I had clicked on "File Manager". So I ended all the processes and went back into my menu went into System > My Computer and right clicked on that and opened it. explorer.exe ran instantly and opened up My Computer. Now, I went back to my right click menu and hit "File Manager" again. Explorer opened up immedietly and as it should.
Now, I closed both windows and hit "File Manager" again, and this time the same error as before has happened.
So being a trouble shooter as I am, I went and terminated LiteStep and ran BlackboxLEAN. I right clicked, hit the Explorer button, (Equivalent of File Manager for non-BB users) and Explorer popped up.
So I went back into LS after terminating BB, and reloaded and recycled LS, default theme and hit File Manager. This time the app hung for exactly 5 seconds, then did nothing. Explorer was shown in the processes but not doing anything.
I took this with a grain of salt and reformatted my system, thinking something was wrong on my end.
I opened Litestep after getting things installed, and voila it worked. So I left to go get some food, and came back. After sitting back down once I had eaten a hardy meal, I wanted to get something out of my HDD, so I clicked File Manager, and guess what - same problem.
There's no error messages or what not. Is ANYONE else having this problem? I don't know where to turn anymore.
Dave
