Autoclose Objectdock

Hi

Is there a way to get Objectdock to close whilst a program is running and then auto-restart once the program is closed?

I ask as a couple of my programs seem to run very slowly with Objectdock running, but as i love the docks i dont want to have to manualy close them each time, esp seen as the programs launch from one of my docks.

I think you are out of luck on this one, though in all honesty - I am not a coder, and there may be some way to do it.

It would obviously have to be tied into the OS in some way.

I simply use the system tray icon to unload ObjectDock if needed, and have a hot-key on my desktop, and on my notebook - I have the ObjectDock shortcut pinned to the start menu.

No load at startup on either machine.

Hi Corky...

It may be possible to make a bat file to load/unload and add that to the shortcut of the program(s) which you want to unload it for. The problem I see is getting it to "know" when the program closes so that it loads. Maybe one of the programmers will see a possible fix. I know many who would like something to use for their games.

It would certainly help with any programs using overlay that currently have issues with ObjectDock.

There is a docklet in the docket folder called Docktools, here is a link that I found. The instructions are in english translated from German and a little hard to follow, but from what I understand it is a tool that will close the dock, open the program of your choice, (it was made for 3D games, but any program should work) and upon closing the program reopen Object Dock. Sorry about the bad link, I have gone to the actual wincustomize page. The docklet is called DockTool .007. Maybe this link will work, from what I was understanding from the translated english it looks like it would work for the original poster's situation.
