drmiler: But look at it this way. Do "most" liberals support the war in Iraq? Nope. Since the answer is no, would it not be safe to assume that for the most part those joining the military currently are "not" liberals? Human nature says that if it's something you don't agree with, it's something you won't get on board with.
Military service is not defined by the war in Iraq.
The enlistment oath reads:
"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
