Bush lashes out on eavesdropping & congressional knowledge

I hope a certain slandering automaton reads at least the original materials for this article, as I'm sure that clueless old liberal clown would be at the head of the line to demand someone's head if the materials and information that might be gathered via such eavesdropping, and could be used to help protect the citizens of this nation, weren't gathered and someone did die because of it.

Some clowns -- including roughly half of the congress, especially the white flag waving anti-Patriot act crowd of democrats and ultra liberal panty-wastes -- continue to take glee in the apparent "no win" situations they can try to catch the President in.

If Pres. Bush doesn't make sure we have the best intelligence at our disposal, he's a failure. If he does gather intelligence by any means necessary, he must have broken the law. If we use torture to get results, we're dispicable, but if we don't use torture and terrorists get away scot free, then it's all his fault and he must be impeached.

I really wish that some clowns had the job of President just for a day or two, just long enough to get their own selves into impeachable position so they could enjoy the bright lights and scrutiny that they keep trying to point at the man. It's as if they believe he must be a god, rather than a man, and he must absolutely have no failings while in the job.

In anycase, I'm glad that the President is coming up swinging on these issues. He should be holding his opponents feet to the fire on these issues, and does need to remind us all that his job is to protect all of us, including the same clowns pointing at him and demanding his head. There is virtually no room for failure, and because of that, he is having to do and demand extraordinary things from himself and everyone that works for our protection. How about we all let those people do the job and maintain the record we've had since 9-11-2001 of NO MAJOR ATTACKS ON U.S. SOIL. Something that many of our so-called allies aren't able to claim at all.

Bush Acknowledges Approving Eavesdropping

WASHINGTON - President Bush said Saturday he personally has authorized a secret eavesdropping program in the U.S. more than 30 times since the Sept. 11 attacks and he lashed out at those involved in publicly revealing the program. "This is a highly classified program that is crucial to our national security," he said in a radio address delivered live from the White House's Roosevelt Room.
"This authorization is a vital tool in our war against the terrorists. It is critical to saving American lives. The American people expect me to do everything in my power, under our laws and Constitution, to protect them and their civil liberties and that is exactly what I will continue to do as long as I am president of the United States," Bush said.
Angry members of Congress have demanded an explanation of the program, first revealed in Friday's New York Times and whether the monitoring by the National Security Agency violates civil liberties.
Defending the program, Bush said in his address that it is used only to intercept the international communications of people inside the United States who have been determined to have "a clear link" to al- Qaida or related terrorist organizations.

And by the way, lest I forget -- this is about AUTHORIZING a secret program that is still well within the laws of the U.S.A. There is no crime here. The only possibility for a crime would be if the information that we have been obtaining was not obtained and someone fell to harm because of it.
