The Kingdom of Mughanistan is a huge, devout nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its compassionate, cynical population of 275 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.
The enormous government juggles the competing demands of Education, Religion & Spirituality, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 34%, but much higher for the wealthy. A large private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Basket Weaving and Cheese Exports.
Child labor has been outlawed, genetic research is temporarily tied up in government red tape, citizens select which government department gets their income tax dollars each year, and nudity is frowned upon. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Mughanistan's national animal is the penguin, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the dollar.
