Day 7 - still no comments

Today was a usual day. I had 2 tests today and I think I will write a letter to the girl I like about us talking. She has been kindof ignoring me. Also, I wonder why there hasn't been any comments on the other days. Don't know, maybe this will get people's attention.

Okay, I'll bite.

First, your first article received a comment a week ago.

Second, it takes time to start receiving comments. I've seen people throw fits and leave because they weren't getting the kind of attention the top bloggers get. It took me 6 months here before I could reasonably expect to get at least one comment on most my articles. (And occasionally a stray article will still go comment-less.)

Third, you need to comment extensively before people get to know your name and start clicking on your articles.

Fourth (this whole number thing is annoying even me now), you need better titles, something that will draw people in, entice them to read. "Day X" does nothing for nobody.

Lastly, these type of highly personal, journal-type articles rarely receive comments because, really, there isn't anything to comment on unless the person knows you personally. Also, keep in mind that most of the JU regulars (who are responsible for the majority of commenting) are considerably older than you. There's not really a lot to say to a 16 year old who's just talking about their day-to-day life. See if you can take a single event, write it in an interesting story-like style, and draw some kind of conclusion from it. Then give a title to match the theme.

So, comment more, write more attractive, intriguing titles, find some topics beyond a simple run-down of your day, and be patient.

Then, what interests you? How do they make you feel? Do you have anything that makes you want to rant on and on? Something funny happen to you? So far, you're narrating your daily life. And while that's surely interesting to the people that already know you, they apparently don't blog much. Once you've got some other stuff out there, and people start to read you more, little updates like these are great. We just don't know you yet.
