System Requirements

How much video memory in the final product?

Just wondering about the amount of graphic card memory that will be needed in the final product. The earlier betas only required 32MB of memory, but the latest beta requires 64MB. Since I have a laptop with only 32MB of memory that interests me.

Galciv II is really the only reason for me to upgrade my laptop since Civilization IV supposedly works on 32MB.

One of our artists has a laptop with a gfx card that only has 32 MB and GalCiv2 does run on it, but it's slower than on my laptop, which has the same specs except that my video card has 64 MB.  Also, on the larger galaxies, it might start blowing out your texture memory.  We're going to do what we can to keep the texture memory to a minimum, but the larger galaxies are probably still going to push the limits just because of the sheer number of graphical objects that need to be drawn.

Ok, but I can probably settle for smaller galaxies and for speed penalties.
