Here are some tips I have researched in dealing with ADD, Depression, Primarily called Reward Difiency Syndrome, which is a spin off of an inbetween Depression (atypical) and ADD (Type2), dealing with the dopaminergic system.
As I say this, because this is what I persoally suffer from. I used a chemical for 3 yrs called GBL , which in my opinon now is terrible for the brain, because of the potent dopaminergic shut off /release every time you used GBL. Now, what im getting at, is GBL is not neurotoxic! So why or how can i say it was so bad for the brain. Well, its non toxic, proven by science, I do believe it can alter the dopamine system and possibly GHB receptors from using this chemical 10x a day for yrs.
The outcome is a problem in the nucleusd accumbens deep in the limbic system responsible for reward, motivation, socialization, and get up and go incentive feeling.. Pretend this area shut down, as it actually does when one uses alot of cocaine, amphetamines, meth, and then quits. Well I know this person will feel like nothing in the world is good, Not so much a suicidal ideology feeling , but dysphoric, amathetic, adonia feeling, opposite of the feeling one gets when taking a drug such as amphetamine, meth, cocaine, ect.
I can personally attest to this in a slight way, due the the fact I am perscribed Adderall 30mg to take 3x day. Now some experts iv spoke with say im just using another drug and its a temp fix. Well i agree and disagree. First of all, as I prior to this taking adderall, was sober 1 yr. I was put on Zoloft , remeron, desipramine. Psychopahacology states zoloft is one of the most potent serotonin reuptake and remeron actuallly hit the Serotonin 5HT2 receptor. SO i had enough serotonin available. Next, also remeron helped anxiety, and sleep.. I feel remeron is a dream for someone who suffers from sleep disorder due to anxiety. Desipramine, is a potent Norepinephrine increaser. THen I also would take maybe .25mg to .5mg of xanax for any anticipatory or break through anxiety.
In this year, now clean for 1 yrs, and on these medication, taking them as perscirbed , working, sleeping doing everything correct , supplements , except for maybe blood sugar fluctuations due to my diet, ( i love icecream) I feel this regiment and overall positive effects about 20 percent. Im not looking for 20 percent improvement. Now 100 percent doesnt mean i would be high or something similar, but 100 percent is a figure reguarding to symptom reduction, lessoning antisocial behavior and getting that zest for life quality back.
To cut to the chase, I ended up abusing oxycontin. So after about 2 months taking 5 oxy 40s a day, I had enough. I didnt even go to a rehab, because I dont believe in them anymore, after spending 30 days 2x and 6 months one time. I used and had obsessive cravings as i walked out completing the program, and doing AA NA meeting.
What im getting at is this: REHABS , AA/NA , Psychotheropy , DO NOT WORK , except for 1 out of 20 people give or take. Well I said ot myself , and it didnt take a genious to figure this out, but knowing about some of the basics of the mind, neurotransmitters, nutritional information. When I speak to someone who is addiced to something, I can talk to them till im blue , and never change there ways. What your feeling and how the neurosystem is working, well is the only was to make someone feel that much better, then ATTEND meeting and theropy. Feeling at least 80 percent positive , then you can asertain information learned by a professional pscychologist or even listiening to speakers in AA/NA, but If your brain is not properly functions, IE: low serotoin levels , low dopamine, too much adrenaline and glutamate, well you will walk out of there, and seek releif, mainly through your drug of choice.
So, the day I was perscribed Adderall, I felt so much better, my thoughts were actually normalized, I have alot of mental energy, iI am not seeking any drugs, or even craving. I take my medication as persribed , add some supplements to keep the brain cells working to par, and attempt to increase the effectiveness
I will follow up on this with more expert research .
