Almost makes up for not getting carded when buying wine with my 4 and 8yr olds in tow |
I got carded last weekend even with having my 6 year old with me (who was bagging the groceries because she thinks it's cool...but that is a different story). I asked the cashier: "How old do you think I was when I had my now 6 year old daughter?" The lady looked at me, then at my daughter....and then still asked for my ID. I think she may have been a bit slow.
We used to have people call for the people who used to have our phone number when we first moved. Haven't had any since my husband started telling everyone that the guy was dead. Not sure if they took him seriously, but at least they quit calling.
I had a solicitor ask if the "man of the house" was available. I said: "yes". Then there was a silence. They asked "well, can I talk to him?" I said, "No...why would you want to, anyway? All he'll do is hang up on you." (which is the truth). I think they thought I was a teenager or something and called back three other times (had the same conversation) then they finally quit.
