Significant mouse lag on secondary monitor in Multiplicity

Just upgraded to 1.00h[b].003 [Beta]

First, things I like:
Num-lock not syncing!!!
Keystroke to toggle between PCs!
Switch based on mouse velocity (may have to reboot, not working yet. Where do I set threshold?)

Things not working that I don't know if I like or not:
Screen darkening on secondary

Things that I don't like:
Wicked lag on secondary mouse action. Seems to get much worse when dragging windows or scroll bars. (And it seems to jump to the upper left corner, but that may be Tablet related; it gets goofiy when the light is bad)
Advanced user options not with the other configure options. Bad UI, bad.

Awesome app! Keep up the great work.

Another buggish type thing: the scroll wheel loses functionality once in a while on a secondary.

Good day, I am afraid i have the same problem as listed above using the 1.1pro version. First install of the trial version worked perfect then after screen saver triggered on that machine it has no longer worked. I have since uninstalled the trial and purchased the pro and after reinstall the same problem exists.

Good day, I am afraid i have the same problem as listed above using the 1.1pro version. Pardon the double post above, i have done some testing and the issues revolves around the locking computer desktop.

There are two points to the issue:

1) When set to lock desktops the mouse becomes very lagged on the 2nd PC and the app seems to disconnect at odd times.

2) When set to only lock with a full screen App the mouse does not lag on the 2nd PC, but the program does tend to disconnect several times quickly and then continue working for a min or two, then again disconnect a few quick times. This requires hitting the Scroll Lock, which i use for switching, several times to get it to resume usage.

Mouse lag would point to high cpu usage on one of the PCs or a network connection with lots of latency.

i assumed that, but it seems to happen most often when a webpage is loading or something, and thats not cpu intensive, no network latency here either. fo instance, when i hover over this page, i get lag, but if i minimize this window, no problems.

I find significant lags when hitting sites with animated ads and SharePoint document lists (but only on fields with edit options).

I use Multiplicity 1.02.006 pro on mine and the lag on the mouse is a big problem, I love SD programs but I had to stop using this cuz of the lag , I never had anything bad to say about an SD program, but here i do .

I agree with IL Duce

I hope they can find a fix soon for this, so i can use it again

Look at taskmanager on the secondary when it starts to lag.  Is cpu usage high?

Are you all using tablet pcs?

well, just to let u know, i disabled all the tablet pc specific startup stuff, and now the lag is gone, so i'm assuming it was confilicting with one of those. i don't have the time to figure out which one it is today, but if i get some time next week and i can load each idividually and see which one specificaly was causing the problem.

Ok... I'm a professional user using your product in sports stadiums.  We have had the lag issue crop up at odd times... I don't buy, on a gigabyte connection having lag... Its more like the packets get screwed up and loose sync.  I think that you need to make a resyncing tool that allows a complete resync to be spawned by a keyboard command.  Also, sometimes a system goes bad and the master's cursor is lost.  Why and what do we do to get the cursor back other then reboot.

I so agree with the above comments - great idea as software goes but very buggy.  I lose cursors all over the place on the other machines.  My laptop is available some times and not others and setup on all machines was a nightmare.  I really hope they can make this work - especially the latency problem - I get this even on a Gigabit network with nothing else going on - according to Ethereal there is just a stream of stuff from Multiplicity.

I have had severe mouse lagging at time, a constant ping on my 1 GBit between my two machines showed latency from 1 ms to 450 ms.


I then adjusted the transmit and receive buffers on the secondary machine from 50 to 100 (it's a Marvell Yukon based). This can be configured in the drivers for the netcard. Since the I have had almost no lagging, and latency is between 1 and 6 ms.
