I'm currently "suffering" from an upswing that may be a manifestation of this bipolar thing. If I am indeed "bipolar" I refuse to call it a disorder because, you know what? I love the ups. That's when I'm normal and I can do things. I don't do crazy things like some people characterized as bipolar do. I merely function extremely well on my ups. Too bad that the downs are so crappy because I don't function at all then, and if I'm forced to function, the results ain't pretty.
One night when I was 19 I absolutely couldn't sleep and my mind was racing with productivity. That night I devised a check-balancing system. Of course some time later I discovered that such a system already existed, precisely as I'd come up with on my own. It's pretty straightforward and logical, but it was pretty phenomenal for me to come up with it on my own because I'm sometimes quite less-than-mediocre in the brains category.
The last few days I haven't blogged because I've been so refreshingly busy getting things done. My mind works well, and things/relationships/issues are extremely clear to me right now. At times like this, it's my chance to write letters and make phone calls to people I'd love to have better relationships with.
I happened to be up quite early (is 3am early?), and suddenly I thought, "Hey, I'm up in time for the 6am aerobics class!" I had 4 minutes to get there. lol. Plus it snowed last night, so I had to scrape the car. But I got there just for the tail end of the warm-up. It was so much fun!
I've heard in passing that some truly great people had bipolar characteristics, and because of the "up" side of it, they were able to accomplish really wonderful things. Here's are some commonly-known people who're bipolar. Some of these people are really cool, like Sting. Some of them aren't so great to me, and some I don't even know. But it's interesting to see all of them, and their professions that they thrive in.
