I agree. At least not until he can get more experience. Remember the VP debate? Plus he's out of a job for now, so probably not until 2012 at least.

I think that if Iraq goes badly, Howard Dean will have a good chance as an anti-war candidate, as opposed to a certain senator who voted for the 87 billion dollars before he voted against it. Since Dean didn't support the war at the start, he can now criticize it without losing credibility. I wonder how the election would have turned out if he were the candiddate in 2004. Those would be some interesting debates... Plus he has the support of the NRA.

I also thought Dick Gephardt would have been a good candidate, but he's also out of public office.

I think Gephardt would be an excellent candidate. But i think he's had enough. I think he campaigned for the job 3 times and didnt get the nomination.

You know what killed Gebhardt?  When he became the Democrat House leader.  he had to compromise his core and beliefs.  it is really a shame.  The man that Missouri elected was not the one that left congress.  The former would have been great.  The latter cannot escape the stigma of his extremism in getting the Minority leader job.

Personaly, I would love to see Obama run. He's got an amazing amount of smarts, integrity, and following. But, he's not really experienced enough, but I'm not sure that's a deal breaker. If a country can elect someone like Bush 2.1, then I guess good experience is not a prerequisite. Anyway, Obama is my Number One choice, and a woman as VP would be great. Or, the other way around.

Now, which women would qualify as pres or VP? Hmmmmmmm....... something to think about.

I think if Obama plays his cards right, he could run in 2012 given there isn't a dem running for re-election.

VP...Female...not hillary...hmmmmmm.

Carol Mosely Braun?
Dianne Feinstien?
Ann Richards? (I like Ann, she can cut through BS like a surgeon)

Personaly, I would love to see Obama run.


Obama could probably run as a VP in '08. For President, he will probably need a bit more experience, so probably not until 2012 or 2016 if another dem wins in 2008 and runs for re-election (I feel that is pretty likely). Hmmm...Dean/Obama '08. Not too bad
