I have my taskbar set up and backup made. However, quite constantly, Start11 is confusing which app is which on the taskbar -- assigning the wrong app to a given app's icon. When I restore a backup, the situation is not fixed. I make these backups immediately after repairing the damage to the taskbar which Start11 seems to want to keep causing. So that, when I restore a backup, things should be fixed. And yet they are not.

What should I do? What am I doing wrong? This has been going on for a long time, really dating back to when I first started using Start11 last year. My Start11 configuration is relatively simple. All I wanted was a Start menu more like Windows 7. I am not taking advantage of any of the advanced taskbar features which Start11 has to offer. I just want a regular taskbar.

I hate to be casting aspersions, but Start11 truly has me bewildered. I'm not a dumb guy. Former software developer, system/network administrator here. I can usually figure technical issues out and yet here I am baffled. If I cannot rectify the situation, I fear I may have to go back to the Windows 11 stock Start menu and taskbar.

So please help. Thank you.
