Hello. I'm experiencing an odd issue that I'm curious about.
If I play XPlane 11, which is on my secondary PC, the splash/loading screen appears (on the KVM window), but after a few seconds or so, the screen goes black, and stays like that until the game has loaded, where the screen then shows up again. This happens again once I have chosen a plane and start the flight session, where once again, during a load, the screen goes black until the sim has loaded up.
It seems to be partially affected by the sim screen being fullscreen, or at least affected by OTHER windows being visible. If I have the sim screen not fullscreen (so the desktop or other windows/programs are visible) it seems to 'help'. Also, Alt-Tabbing to reveal other windows, suddenly makes the PCs screen appear again on the KVM window. Kind of a screen update thing happening, it seems.
I can't say I have seen this issue with any other game so far.
As much as I'd like to fix this, I'm also curious what technically could be going on here. What typically might cause this kind of effect.
Odd thing is, if I connect that secondary PC to a second monitor (so there is video coming out of the back video port, as well as the video going through the ethernet to the KVM, the video port video does not go black (...a fact that I use as I troubleshoot, so I can see what is actually happening 'behind the black screen'). So the sim is running fine (as far as the video output during the loading), but for some reason, it results in a black screen through the KVM.. and always when it is loading.
This is paired with another issue I am having, which I outline in a post also made today.
The new PC is not straining or anything. Lots of RAM and a good CPU, otherwise I'd assume it's just too busy loading to properly display the loading screen (...although nothing really changes during this load screen, other than the updating of the load status bar).
The PCs are connected directly to the latest version of the Bell Fibe 1.5gig modem.
Any ideas?
