Greetings. I'm helping someone who's not a power computer user and who is also sight impaired (and additionally is losing some feeling in his fingers due to diabetes) with computer use. We don't yet have Stardock products purchased or installed.
Is there any ongoing thread or community section in the Stardock-o-verse with tips related to these two topics, for configs that might go beyond what Windows 10 can do addressing common windows shortcomings?
1. Ease of use. Most recently in the "not a power user" category, I want opened application windows to be unable to move outside the visible desktop area. Is that function already a part of one of the Stardock products?
2. Sight impaired.
- He's got a 24 inch monitor governed to 1024x768 resolution for starters, just to make everything bigger. Of course you use a lot of width with that setup, and in general apps built for much more and much smaller res are clunky now.
- We're experimenting with the high contrast palettes,
- have made desktop icons bigger.
- shortcuts are on the desktop, not the start bar, because modality of opened vs. available is too nuanced to see (tiny blue bar).
- have made the pointers BIG,
- haven't yet been using magnifier,
- Have looked at Youtube demo of something called "Zoomtext" which seeems better than ootb w10 Ease of Access.
- trying to get Outlook configured the best we can for reading, replying, composing.
Happy to share my experience so far and hope to hear from some Stardockers any tips and tricks for either of these cases (and to purchase accordingly from there).
Best regards.
