I have been looking for an app to automatically put icons for inserted removable media drives and disc onto the desktop. While I have found several, none are really what I am looking for. The first time you insert a particular drive/disc they all place an icon at the first empty spot on your desktop. You can then move the icon from that position and it will reappear there if you insert it again., But every new device appears in the first available spot.

What I would like is an app that would let me designate an area of the screen to show the drives/disc/media and also allow me to choose how the next one is added, going horizontally or vertically from the first icon. the list would change dynamically as things are inserted and removed and the area selected should have a background with customizable transparency, like fences.

It would also be cool to have this feature added to object dock. Speaking of object dock, any chance of getting an official integrated stack docklet for it?
