I've been using Object Dock since XP and added Bins in Win 7. Between the two, I had a nice, productive workflow going for years. Now that I have Win 10, -- I bought Start10 immediately, and love it -- Bins no longer works (and the dev, Jeff Bargmann, hasn't said anything about Bins since June other than "not ready.") I fear not enough people use Bins for Jeff to give it much of his time.
So I bought the full Object Desktop suite in an effort to find something that would functionally take the place of Bins. I am a total noob about Stardock UI software other than Object Dock. Can anyone well-versed with all the various modules/features of Object Desktop let me know how to achieve something similar to the functionality of Bins? (http://www.1upindustries.com/bins/default.aspx) Or a link to a recent tutorial of all that Object Desktop can do (I found some old tutorials that don't even mention many of the things in the current version of Object Desktop)?
If the tabbed version of the Object Dock worked by just hovering over a tab instead being so fiddly, it would be similar in some ways to Bins (though not integrated with the taskbar and therefore more obtrusive-looking on the desktop).
I don't need most of what Object Desktop offers, like skinning and icons and, well, most of it, so I feel a bit foolish buying the whole suite. Just looking for UI usability tweaks/time-savers more than any visual customizations. But if I can find those time-savers (like Bins or something similar), then the price will be more than worth it to me.
