I just got a laptop with Windows 8.1 (my Windows 7 one is being repaired), and the charms bar and clock/calendar are driving me nuts. (Yeah, welcome to the club...) Anyway, I downloaded the trial version yesterday and it didn't work. I figured that it must be because I've got 8.1, and needed to purchase Start8 to get full functionality. I did that earlier today, downloaded/installed and .... it worked for about an hour ... now it's stopped working, and the idiotic charms bar and clock/calendar are destroying my work productivity.

What's the deal? Can this be fixed? Do I need to install Windows 10 (just shoot me), and buy a different version of Start10
