Hello community!
I just wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself, and say how excited I am for this game! I'm seeing a lot of games and companies that I recognize and love. I'm a longtime rts fanatic, playing Age of Empires 1-3, Empire Earth, Dawn of War 1/2, Orcs Must Die 1/2 and the vast majority of the Total War series to name a few. On top of this, I have always loved the mech genre, playing Hawken, Mechwarrior, and several Armored Cores, so this is an awesome looking match.
I want to also throw out my two cents on the game and respond to some of what I've seen others say. First I guess come the graphics. I am in the boat that doesn't care about graphics much. I've put way more hours than I should have into Dwarf Fortress, and that game is a bunch of letters moving around a screen of multicolored punctuation. As long as they serve their purpose, I'm all for it. Currently, I get a "Planetary Annihilation" vibe, but as has been said, the graphics are mostly placeholders.
More important for me is the feel of the mechs. I can tell that the animations still need to be fleshed out in places, such as the jittery transition when a servo switches from attacking to a special attack and back. Additionally, I'm wondering if there are plans to make them turn slower or have animations for turning, as right now they whip about on a dime.
My last question comes down to the customization. I'm curious what the slots are, and to what degree we can modify each class as well as any differences between what can use what. And then what are the plans for personalization? Obviously there are higher priorities, but will we be able to paint parts or create personal and clan emblems? I'm mostly asking because of the servo in the trailer with the random red launcher, as I'm hoping to avoid having my units look like a patchwork quilt.
Good luck with the game!
