1) when the fences config dialog is open, fences should remain visible (even if they're set to be hiding immediately). Else it is very hard to configure their appearance. Maybe they could hide only if the config is at the page related on hiding to see the respective setting, try double-click on desktop etc. At other config pages they should appear

2) would be nice to be able to confert a classic fence to a folder portal, by generating on the desktop a folder with the contents of the fence and then converting the fence and autoassigning it to that folder

3) at a fence's Display menu (at its settings dropdown), it should have an Appearance & Color... option that takes you to the fences config dialog and AUTOSELECTS that fence in the drop down at the Appearance & Color page, so that you can edit its color
