So far, I'm liking the game very much. However, I'm having some issues which of course I fully expect at this early stage.
Gameplay:
1. The Dreaded Arbitrary Death
Even close to my first city and early in the game, I'll go into a location (tomb, ruins, village, whatever) and get a quest (kill or fetch something, etc) and after accepting it I'm instantly transported to the quest location. Many times the creatures I have to fight are SO much higher level than my army, I get turned into a thin red paste within a round or two. There was no opportunity to avoid the fight and no forewarning of what I was about to face.
Bugs (?)
2. Units Feet Nailed to the Ground
This happened several times in combat, and twice on the overland map. Even though my units have the ability to move (plenty of action points and no inhibiting affects like webbing) they cannot move. None of them. If an enemy happens to be already adjacent, I can attack. Enemies seem to be able to move just fine. In combat, it happens to all my units simultaneously.
3. Memory Leaks (?)
Usually preceding or immediately after issue #2 above, movement (both in combat and on the overland map) slows to a crawl. A virtual slideshow.
The game has not crashed or frozen yet, but after #2 and/or #3 occur, I have to quit and then restart. That solves #2 and #3, at least temporarily.
