So 'bad ass'? More like reeks like ass, download the Windows 10 Preview and see for yourself... Honestly tiling Metro/Modern applications on the Start Menu is functionally idiotic and inefficient; you end up having to move your mouse a mile, and have in essence the identical primitive mess that is the 'Start Screen' in miniature -- i.e. all things that the Start Menu organizes heuristically is now a flat pile with only simplistic linear organization at best. Worse; you can't even reconfigure to have a real heuristically organized Start Menu...
One would think with Microsoft's operating budget and talent they could do better then Stardock here, but they haven't even come close. As well the execution of their 'new windowing' of Metro/Modern applications is not as nice as ModernMix -- which is shocking really when you consider Microsoft is working at a source level with native code and Stardock has to execute on top of the mess Microsoft has made...
The few truly new features (to Windows that is) i.e. TWM and VDM that borrow from decades old implementations of Tiling Window Mangers and Virtual Desktops are similarly sordid, buggy, kludgey and disappointing in execution. Windows 10 should be more of an embarrassment then something to show off and preview, but the public is easily led... So far Windows 10 is more like something that comes out of a 'bad ass', i.e. a steaming wet projectile mess; with no new underlining technology, more kludgey half way measures and compromises that look more like committee design then organized rational principles that commit form to function.
Yuck...
