Well, Support got the 'Maximum Activations Exceeded' problem fixed. I never knew about the 'Deactivation' procedure. I guess I do, now.
My problem remains - I cannot click and/or right-click a pinned icon and move it up or down the "list" of other icons. I have uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled so many times I'm convinced that's not the answer. The previous version worked fine. However, if I now try to install that previous version, the problem remains.
I have a second, similar machine that works just fine. So it seems I can eliminate problems with Windows updates and things like that.
Where is the structure of the pinned items kept? Is it in the registry, somewhere? I searched and thought I could just change the order there but couldn't find anything. Somewhere in the machine has got to be a portion of a file that records the order of the pinned items. That's what must be corrupted. That "file" remains after an uninstall because when I reinstall, all my pinned items are still there. I don't have to re-pin anything. It seems like an uninstall should remove "everything" - yes - no?
Thanks
Chuck
