I'm a little bit hesitant to upgrade to 8.1 since I can now pretty much deal with this OS thanks to Start8 and don't want to introduce any new frustration.
I know 8.1 introduces an essentially useless start button that I don't want to see on my taskbar. Here's the trick though - I actually already have a custom start button on my taskbar that I created using a program called 7stacks. I still use Start8 to provide all the functionality I'm used to with Win7, but don't use Start8's start button. Instead, I have that option checked off in the Desktop settings ("Show a button on the main taskbar.")
So if I upgrade to 8.1 and continue to leave that option unchecked, will I now have to deal with the official useless Microsoft start button in the spot where I currently keep my custom one? Or does Start8 provide an option to hide that one as well?
