Programs disappearing from Start 8 Search

Hello,

Lately a number of my programs are not showing up when I use the "search programs and files" field on Start 8. For example, Internet Explorer. I know I have it, and it shows up if I open up "All Programs," but searching for "internet" used to bring it up as a search result, and now it doesn't. Other programs have begun to be affected as well.

Any way to fix this?

Please make sure you are using the latest version of Start8, 1.40.1.  If that fails please place a ticket here.

My Problem is same as above

 

I can't search for program like Snipping Tools , Remote Desktop .

 

It can search in previous version , but in new version it can't

 

PLEASE TEST AND FIX IT..

 

Start8 ver 1.40.1 and Windows 8.1 lastest update

Which language version of Windows are you using?

 

Windows 8.1 Pro  US English Language with Thai-Language pack installed but set Display language to US English.

I'm having the same issue and am about to uninstall this program, it is completely useless with this bug. It is not even searching pinned programs, or recently used ones that are displayed when the start menu is first opened.

It sounds like your Windows Search index may have become corrupt.  You may need to rebuild the index from the Windows Indexer options.

I have indexing disabled, but newly installed programs are still added to the start search, so I doubt it's the Windows search index. Going to the Indexing Options doesn't even give me the Advanced option (it's grayed out since I have it disabled).

On top of that, the missing programs DO appear if I use the Metro search functionality (typing on the tiles screen). It's only in Start 8 that they are missing.

If you have indexing disabled that may well explain a great deal.  Try turning it back on and see if search returns to working (after a reboot)

I'm Delete and Rebuild Windows Indexing  and Result are the same.

Search with Windows 8.1 Start Screen can found Snipping Tools , Remote Desktop,...

 

BUT search with start8 not found some item like above , it can found Windows Journal in deepest sub menu , but can't found Snipping Tools !! WHY!!!

 

PLEASE RE-CHECK IT and FIX IT !!

I have exactly this problem. Start8 cannot find remote desktop, snipping tool. Win+s can.

I have version 1.41
