I have a suggest for a future version of Start8. Make it so we can Pin the Start Menu to the desktop instead of always having to click on the start button. You could do this and still allow an area to a side for desktop icons. The only time you would not see the Start Menu would be when you have an application(s) open to full size, then you would hit the start button to show the desktop and Start Menu when needed.
