I upgraded to Windows 8.1 and now the start menu is gone that I had before like the old Win7 or XP versions. I wanted so that when you click on the start button that it shows all your programs and Control panel.
It sounds like you may have had an older version of Start8 installed. Uninstall the one you have and download and install the latest version.
I downloaded the new Start8 version but still can't find where I'm suppose to change it to make the start button show my programs/control panel. When I click on the start button now the new Windows 8 screen comes up.
OK, I see that if I right click on the start button that I can click on "Open File Explorer" which does what I want it to but I never had to do it that way before. Is that the way it is now or am I missing something?
Have you perhaps set Start8 to show the win8 menu?
If I have, I don't see where that option would be.
Edit: Figured it out by changing the Start button and Windows key settings in the Control tab.
So did I. It wasn't the easiest thing to find but after trial & error I got it.
