Can't install upgrade on 8,1

Seems to think it's not windows 8 any more

Hi, when I try to install the latest update on windows 8.1 (recently upgraded) (start8 1.30.1) it comes up with a couple of alerts and then bails:

First:

Any ideas? Looks like it's not recognising my version correctly? Maybe I should try uninstalling and reinstalling, but I'm worried then that I'll be stuck with the windows 8 native only!

I had this exact same problem as well. Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center is not recognized as windows 8 for some reason. However this can be worked around if you run the setup in Compatibility mode set for Windows 8 under the properties. Then it will patch fine. See reference pictures below.
