Just brought this game on Steam.
Playing the Tutorial and when I get to the Explore East while training pioneer part of the tutorial, game becomes unresponsive.
Others in the Sream forums are having the same problem with tutorial.
The problem isn't with the game; it's with the first line of your statement.

Have you tried to email Steam support? They should be able to assist you with this problem.
Have you tried verifying the game files withing Steam. It sounds like that kind of issue.
