I realize that this is a question that is 6 months old, but I could not find anything in the forums.  Back in July of 2012, there were reports around the web regarding Microsoft advising that their gadgets be disabled due to a security risk that was found which could allow attackers to gain access to your system through their gadgets.  I was just wondering if that was something that was specific to Windows gadgets or would that apply to all gadgets--including Stardock's--as well? I have several Stardock gadget/widgets that I would like to use, but have disabled all gadgets for now for security reasons.
