Empty MFU item

MFU or MRU?

Is the Start8 list of programs the Most Frequently Used list (Windows' UserAssist decrypted) or is it a list of Most Recently Used programs? It works well for the most part, but occasionally for some program, the file name doesn't show up. For example, I have this Alarm Clock program installed from Microsoft's Plus! Digital Media Edition and see how the name is blank for that. I am running Start8 1.02 on Windows 8 x64.

It is the MFU.

A blank name would suggest a blank entry somewhere which is curious.

Is it always the same app that shows blank?

Yes it's the same icon/app every time. And it appears to be a regular ordinary shortcut, not even an MSI/advertised shortcut.

If you right click on it and open properties what does the shortcut general page say is the name in the editable field?  Also what does it show on the details tab under Name?

Shortcut name is Plus! Alarm Clock and Details tab Name says Plus! Alarm Clock.lnk.

This reminds me, there are a number of Modern apps that show up in Start8 as white icons on white background - Start8 should probably put them in little squares using the appropriate tile colors.

I am not sure why you replied to a long fixed unrelated post, but which apps are they as I am not aware of any with that problem.

I assume you are using 1.45
