It only took me less than four hours before my first game crash, but it was a doozy. Again, it was in the combat screen. The machine locked up and I had to ditch out using the Task Manager. I waited for about five minutes before I took this step, hoping that whatever loop the program was in would time out, but no luck. This crash is significant because when I went to restart the game today, the .exe file was running, but no application came up. It is now ten minutes after I started the game and still nothing. I will re-download and try again.
General comments:
You have rethought the UI and the changes you've made are good ones. The context menus work. Good job.
I will confirm this later, but it seems like you've really slowed the game down; perhaps too much so. It took me forever to get three towns up. That might be me. Game balance is a difficult thing. Let me get back to you about the pace. First impressions are the game really drags.
This has been two years since the initial launch. Amazed that a> you are still working on the game and b> the bugs won't die. Let me say, I appreciate your persistence. I still think there is a classic game in here and I am rooting for you. I will continue to play and test if you continue to work.
More news later. Now off to read the Forum and get a sense of what everyone else thinks.
Good luck.
