Haven't tried Rebels yet, Loyalists are pretty good, I especially like how if you're willing to go for it you can scrap your planets and go full capship nomad. Then you just eat ships and planets while you wander to keep up the funds, and call reinforcements with the gates the Titan drops, as they can go anywhere.
My biggest complaint is that the Titan itself is too wide, it interferes with jumping. Sometimes an entire fleet will be stuck for ages because half of them are trying to fly through the Titan's wings.
