NO, they will be ready when they are ready, rushing will do NO good for the game, if you want to play the other factions go play trinity.

Obviously releasing unfinished features would lead to you (and others) submitting bug reports on functionality that they KNOW is not finished.

This just leads to an avalanche of bug reports that would overshadow the bug reports they would get over features/functionality that were done. They would then have to plow through all those bug reports to find those that are relevant for the pieces of functionality that they considered beta-ready.

Just let the devs do their thing, release stuff they think is beta-ready and then report bugs in that. This is how the process goes.

Guys i think, if you have the factions ready (full ready, with minor bugs) launch it . But if have to much work to be done, i prefer wait some time more .

So do I, but that's no reason to release a race with placeholder graphics, placeholder models, unfinished AI, unfinished abilities, unfinished research etc which is most likely the case as they are (again, just guestimating as a developer myself) in the process of properly finalizing the models, textures, abilities etc.

There is a huge gap between what a customer perceives as "partially finished" and what a dev sees as "partially finished"

what i don't get is that people whined and complained for the beta to come out and now that you have it some people STILL want to whine and complain

I SO want to play the other factions.  However, I hope that the devs don't let us until they have gotton most of the bugs out of the TEC faction.  Also, there may well be bugs specific to the interactions between factions.  I say:  Wait as long as you need, devs. I can wait.

Seem more like someone who wish enjoy the game before everybody that a true beta tester... guy from the OP post have make his first post, never report any bug ( but there is plenty of them )...

I ask Stardock to make the beta unavailable to people who don't really test the beta but use it for try having premature fun... at least, it will reduce the numerous topic related to when other faction will be released...

This is a horrid idea, it would seriously put a damper on the development of Rebellion. The factions are far complete. Flooding the forums with issues concerning a faction that is not complete, and obviously still in the development stage (resulting in a larger amount of bugs) will outnumber other bug reports that deal with the TEC (the only completed faction) and issues with the client, forcing the developers to sort through the threads, wasting their time.

Also, playing an unfinished race on multiplayer could have serious balance issue, but this mostly concerns the Vasari Loyalists.

If you really want to play the other factions, figure out how to manipulate the client on your own. If you succeed, please do not post any bug reports, as bugs are to be expected in things still in the development stages.

Hey man, chill out.  There's no reason to lash out like that.  Especially when you have obviously been impatient enough yourself to mod your game so "you" could play the other factions.  It's a double standard and gets you no respect.  You're impatient enough to mod your game so you can get the opportunity to play the other factions before you're supposed to.  Then get mad at other people simply for "asking" to get the same opportunity?  You may have information others don't now, so you know the reasons why now (even though you weren't supposed to), but that doesn't give you the right to lash out at people like that.  Like I said, just chill out.  People are just getting antzy.  Me, I've had my fill of the TEC, so I'm just sitting back and waiting for when they release one of the other factions.  But believe me NR2001.  If I knew how to mod my game so I could get a glimpse at the other 2 factions and try them out, you bet your ass I would.  Just like you obviously did.  If you didn't then you wouldn't have the information needed to write your comment the way you did.  So relax man... It's not that big of a deal.  Just chill and spark up a smoke.

On a side note:  I am in complete agreement with most of the people in this thread.  Factions should get released 1 at a time, then all together.  That's how the testing process should go and I'm not about to contradict that.  I'm not about to rush the devs to release the other factions.  They can all the time they want.  I can wait.  I would rather see this game get released as close to perfect as possible rather than rush them out of impatience.  It's just not worth it.  Take all the time you need dev's.  I'll be waiting right here.

Well, it is your right... and in your own case, we can say that you have made your job as beta tester ( https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/419104 )... pretty sure that thousand of people have the beta and if all of them was reporting like you do, almost all the bugs or balance problem will be know now...

i agree with the original poster, I'm very bored with TEC and want to see the other races, no matter how unbalanced they may be right now, heck , just use original sins meshes and make the titans a big green rectangle, i don't care , actually that's not a bad idea.....

I did not mean to advoquate him, but i thought people went over the top attacking him. Whether he asked or requested something, that just play of words, the point stays, no harm done.

The things you named, frankly, the only one i would consider to be a symptome of a broken game, is the black screen issue, and luckily, i did not have one myself personally, not while playing TEC nor Vasari. Other things like incorrect trade-lines or mines not exploding correctly, are just annoyances, you can easily overlook, as they are hardly game-breaking, you still can enjoy the game pretty much despite them. I did not built any mines myself as well, when i tried Vasari Loyalists, so there was no issue with them obviously. Nor have i seen any ships to dissapear - not telling now it did not happen, as its not easy to spot, when you have dozens of them.

Finally, you may argue, that point of the beta is to help StarDock to fix the bugs, but that is only part of the equation. For the most part, you are given the beta in exchange for preordering the game, not to help  finding bugs, that is just bonus to devs, if you do so. And as a customer, you have no obligation to do it, so its nothing wrong to use beta just for fun. He did not paid for being a beta-tester after all, but to have fun. Similarly the devs are not obliged to accept his requests (and you do not see him around raging cause they ignored him), nor allowing anyone the access to beta, but as i said, they are doing it, to convince you to preorder the game in the first place. Because you know, better sparrow in hand, than a pigeon on the roof - old saying we have over here.
