Crash bug: on load of saves, probably known since it happens every time
Nonworking power: converting mana node to death/life causes the node to disappear. Clicking the prior location gives you the option to build but does not allow you to actually build on it.
UI bug: clicking on the build or train menus between the bottom ui element and the train - done - design option buttons causes the build or train menu for the city to close in an irritating fashion.
Broken Caster sov build:
Impulsive, Evoker, Brilliant, Attunement, Vulnerable (lol this is a joke, you need to increase it so that it's not a free attribute)
The talent point magic staff
Death and Fire Apprentices
Scholar
Works best in death worshipping civ for Dirge of Ceresa and Graveseal
Walk around training up on stuff until you get fire 3 and death 3, then go gank the nearest civ. Attempt to hook up a fire and a death mana if at all possible and then use the fire/death combo spell soulfire or whatver, if not use firebolt, either way cast graveseal + spell on the enemy champ immediately and he'll pop before he can even move thanks to impulsive, which practically guarantees you the first two moves. Alternatively if he has lots of dudes you can instacast fireball on his army before he can react. It helps to have champs for this but you don't actually need them so long as you pre-kite on the diagonals.
Late game you can do it all in one cast if you can hook up four death nodes and have evoker to 3. Just cast Dirge of Ceresa or whatever and it will gib the entire enemy army in one go.
So, uh, magic and initiative system badly need a look in because magic is hilariously overpowered.
Gameplay Complaints:
Maul is the next most ridiculously overpowered ability. I dunno if you can still get it, but in .75 game I played you could find two weapons with it. I used them to run a two man gangbang on enemy heroes, who had zero chance of doing anything before dying to my hilariously high strength + giant form'd warriors. Even without maul, giant form + crushing blow on a high strength character with a battle ax is gg in one hit for most sovs/champs, and zero chance of missing thanks to backswing (odds of missing two 90%+ hits are practically zero).
Too many of the systems are spammy. Stop making me hit the build button on stuff, just have it start building immediately and go offline for a while if raided. Don't ever make me rebuild caravans, and for that matter give everyone that caravan trait free since that message is annoying. Best of all remove the caravan building concept from the game and just have them ray out dynamically or something.
Dual resource system is stupid AND irritating. Why am I gathering grain and processing it info food? How the heck does it even matter where the food comes from, just have my cities collect food and tell me they made food. Needless duplication of systems. Also steal the Civ5 strategic resource system, the Elemental one is dumb and needs to go. Elemental system is completely irrelevant once any resource has been hooked up for a few turns.
Challenging AI is anything but, no offense but I'm fairly certain only the brain damaged could lose in the current build. Other than the minmaxed champ build I am literally plopping cities any old place, building every building as it becomes available, and not really building any soldiers. The game is ending to conquests victories because my sov and a small team of heroes are ripping giant holes through enemy cities and armies.
World has too many heroes. Last game I collected a dozen of them, they didn't feel special they felt like a giant pain in the micromanaging butt. Put a cap on how many I can hire (3-5 seems about right) and let me pension them off if I don't want them anymore so that I can pick up a new one.
Too many heroes have magic skills, not enough have melee skills. I train them for combat anyway, but they suck at all else.
Herds of heroes can run around annihilating everything with trivial difficulty after minimal leveling. AI utterly incapable of standing in their way.
Governor tree sucks and is totally useless. Give it free xp gain or something, and add more perks to it.
Cities and outposts get spammed all over the map to an absurd degree. ICS would be the optimal strategy were it not for the fact that the map itself prevents it.
Corruption in the form of unrest. What is this, Civ2? Three cities with prisons make it totally irrelevant, but it's still silly that it exists at all.
Too many stats doing too little. Intelligence is basically worthless from what I can tell, spell power is bounded by shards not spells. It has two sub attributes related to spells, both of which appear to have something to do with preventing spells being resisted or preventing spells taking effect. Also experience gain. Why isn't intelligence doing that for me minus the sub stats? More importantly, why have intelligence at all when I am already using traits that do exactly what it purports to do minus a whole bunch of hooey. Dexterity just exists to raise a bunch of sub stats, none of which are useful. It's also a crappy stat to begin with because it has nothing to do with actually putting out damage. Strength I can at least get behind, but I'd prefer the various stats go the way of the dodo and have the whole thing handled by traits. It'd make for a cleaner ui, a more comprehensible (and less exploitable/better balanced) game, and it'd also get away from the current ridiculous system where traits do all the heavy lifting but the pride of place UI wise is given to a bunch of frankly irrelevant stats. Why do we have discipline (oh sorry, I mean strength...) for raising melee damage when we could just take More Damage I - III as happens with spellcasting?.
Racist damage trait pops way too often, which reminds me that I'd like a way to mark traits as "never want this" so they stop popping.
Giant Swampy Places with Big Monsters:
The splash screen is ok, but there's no real confirmation/reward that I've cleared an area, or any real guidance on how to do it. I've cleared one or two, but all that happened was the borders went down after I found all the little sites. It was anticlimactic. There wasn't a splash for the death of the big bad or anything.
UI complaints:
The empire management tree on the right side of the screen is worse than useless and ugly to boot. Why are there giant useless square pictures of the city? Enormous and completely uninformative since they all look exactly the same. Can't actually do stuff directly from the tree, have to be warped back to the city.
Event notification popups on the right are terrible. They only move you to the location in question if you click on a veeery specific part of the graphic. They contain next to no information, and they do not interrupt the end turn process. I often had the game end the turn right after I moved one dude even though a whole pile of build notifications had popped.
Tech tree has way too little space dedicated to showing the techs, and way too much space dedicated to random chrome.
Graphics Complaints:
World still looks like a giant brown shit stain.
In summation:
Elemental with Traits, and also a bunch of doofy systems that should have gone bye bye but apparently didn't.
