Ironclad may already be planning this, but I wanted to suggest a strong promotional video for Rebellion and Sins of a Solar Empire 2. I hate to suggest this for Rebellion as it would add further delay (another week or month perhaps), but I think it would be a good idea. Coridane runs for cover as fans open fire. At the very least, for Sins 2. Weapon fire stops. Whew.
I started a topic once about how it bugged me that many of my friends do not play Sins. Last week, I was approached about a new game coming out, and I was referred to the trailer. That got me thinking about how important a trailer actually is. When it comes to movies and games, I don't always trust reviews which is why I'll read more than one review and even if it got bad press, I might still try it. I've also found that just because a trailer is epic doesn't mean the game will be. I tend to put more stock in gameplay videos. However, the reality is, a lot of people out there are media driven, and a trailer can make a world of difference. I think Ironclad did a good job on their last marketing campaign, but I encourage them to expand on that and put even better hooks out there with a great trailer that captures the beautiful and suspenseful elements of the game.
Many of us want to get our hands on the expansion, but I've seen a lot of people on here tell Ironclad to take their time and do it right. I totally agree. We don't want to rush things, but have a great game. As much feedback as Ironclad gets on how to make the game better, I thought it would be prudent to also suggest ways to make the community bigger, and I believe a trailer that is well done and captures those two things (and more) will draw people in.
