A new player paying $40 Rebellion for a standalone expansion-game makes sense,
Agree with you...
but having those who've already bought Vanilla, Entrenchment, and Diplomacy also pay the same somewhat-high amount (if they didn't want to preorder, for good reasons) for only a moderate amount of new content and improvements doesn't sound quite right.
Well, the preorder thing was bugged... was not accepting to stack the 10$ reduction due to the numerous time i have order the previous expansion... was hoping to have rebellion for free...
Ok, i am joking... of course i regret that Rebellion is not released in the same way that Diplomacy/Trinity... a Rebellion/Quadrinity will have be great... and cheaper for my wallet...
Problem is that devs have work on sins for almost 4 year, with only two very cheap expansion for finance their real life... devs pay rent, need to eat, take care of family, and more; like everybody...
When i look at other game DLC who ask a few $$ for a single custom helmet or a new gun, i choose to pay a little more for a quality expansion pack...Hey, for the total war shogun 2 + all expansion, i have spend almost 100 euro in less that one year... two time more that what i have spend for soase in 4 years ( don't count the gift version to other peoples )
Maybe Stardock/Ironclad need to use the Eve system for soase? 35 euro for a 2 month prepaid scratch card... or 131 euro for 1 year...
In the last 4 year, i have enjoy soase + Ent + Dip during a huge amount of hours, for a price tag equal to 2 evening at a cafe, or equal to 2 audio CD, or equal 4 films at cinema, etc...
By the way, nobody is obligated to buy Rebellion... i have not preorder it and i will not enjoy a lower price... but if Rebellion have everything that Devs have promise, i will be happy to pay the full price...
