I think that there should be a banner creation tool so we can create them in game included in the create a faction workshop.  Having a bunch of pre made symbols, shapes, etc..., would really help those of us that want a custom banner in a easy to use toolset. Im sure for many it would be just as easy to load an image, but the people who don't want to mess with XML are the same ones that might not want to find/draw one and add it to the game files.  Perhaps even giving minor bonuses for what you put on banner?(i.e. skull on the banner gives you a small looting perk, lion gives your units a moral perk, etc..)
