My point in sharing this article is not the fact an UAE diplomat said this. My point was this that at the end of the article there is a quote by California Rep. Jane Harman, who said "I have never heard an Arab government official say that before. He was stunningly candid."
I think this is a funny quote. As if an Arab govenment never said anything violent before. This also shows how poorly people from the States know their history. To those that don't know what I'm referring to: Persians (that's Iranians) don't like Arabs and Arabs don't like Persians (Iranians). You can go 20 years back and see Iraq and Iran fighting it out and most Arab countries were like GO IRAQ and waving their Iraqi flags (well maybe not that last part. I got carried away).
In fact, its a major insult for an Arab to be called an Iranian/Persian or an Iranian to be called an Arab. I think its funny how the UAE wants the U.S to do its dirty work not that we would need an excuse not to.
This article could go with the article of Saudi Arabia temporary opening up its airspace so Israel could destroy Iran's nuclear facilities. I remember hearing and reading people saying: see this shows that the Arabs like Israel and want to be friends and that it is Israel who hates Arabs.
No, SA just wanted Israel to do its dirty work. This would just be a major catalyst for even more hatred towards Israel. It goes back to that Arabs don't like Perisans/Iranians. S.A. doesn't mind Iranian factions attacking Israel, yet S.A. knows that when/if Iran get nukes is a very bad/dangerous thing. When will the leptons in Washington wake up? Did you notice that they don't care about the fact Israel has nukes because they know Israel only has them for defense. Where as, with Iran no one knows what they'll do with them.
