I actually stopped posting so much because I didn't have internet access at home.  When I only have a limited time at the library it's hard to participate on these sites.  By the time I get back to see if anyone responded everyone has moved on to a new subject but I'm back online at home.  and I plan on posting and commenting more.  Glad to know I might have been missed.  It really did hurt my feelings that the internet went on without me - lol.

I actually signed up on several Conservative and Republican blogs and while they do bash on Democrats and Liberalsd, they don't prevent them from having their own opinions. I'm sure there is one out there that does that, but they are not well known like Democratic Underground is.

You people? I find that comment rather insulting. No one here denies the Republicans and Conservatives have flaws. I don't know what else we have to do to point that out besides actually voting for Democrats. You're problem is you are looking at the situation from your point of view and assuming  certain elelments are bad based on your own opinion. I am not too sure what you want but I'm of the belief that one should stand for their beliefs and opinions and not simply give in just because someone thinks you're wrong. However if proved wrong then one should re-evaluate ones opinions.

Things are screwed up in this country because those in power have become power hungry thru out the years and now seem to think they are the answer tro every individuals problem. The biggest mistake in this country was to think the Gov't can fix anything and every effort to take away a person own responsibilities and replace it with a Gov't alternative is basically making every person i this country weaker. The average person no longer want to work hard to earn their lives, they want everything given to them due to this misguided idea of deserving it just because they are Americans.

I don't make excuses and I don't condone bad behavior. The Media does misrepresent things more often then not because these days it's not about providing the news, it's about profits and the Media is just another corporation looking for a better way to make more money.

It's sad when our society has reached a point where it's OK to make a mockery of a sitting President when the TV show Little Bush and the movie W were created. I'm sure no one will make an Obama movie mockery without the entire Black community raising hell.

You know, I am so tired if that whole "because I'm Black" crap Black people keep pushing these days. The guy is President and that's still not enough. If you can't take a bit of criticism from the same politics that have reigned in this country for decades then maybe black people should run for President. Barack Obama is half-Kenyan. I don't know the exact makeup of tribes in Kenya but I guess most are Bantu (a linguistics term, nothing to do with the South-African concept of Bantu). Bantu are remotely related to tribes in Nigeria, but really not closely. They arrived in Kenya during the Bantu invasions a few hundred years ago (not sure if this applies to Kenya, it applies to South-Africa). The native population were presumably Nilo-Saharan (i.e. like native Sudanese). None of these people have much to do with African-Americans who I believe came from the West-African coast just south of the Sahara (people living north of the Sahara are white and were not slaves in America).

The term "black" to describe a myriad of peoples from totally different backgrounds (Nilo-Saharans are as related to Bantu as Europeans are to Amerindians) is just complete nonsense. Add to that the fact that genetics don't define attributes of nations and there is simply no reason to differentiate between white and black other than for looks and medical reasons.

So he is not the "first black president" because that term is meaningless. He is the first Kenyan president. And that's about as impressive as the first Polish president.

The term is what I consider to be the most descriptive in use in America (where other terms are verbotten).  I refuse to use the term "African-American" (Although Obama would qualify more than 99% of black Americans could) as it is used to include all black people, even those from Britain, the Caribean, Australia, or what have you.  it is a stupid term (Teresa Heinz is an African-American too). Plus I hate hyphens.

But America is obsessed with race.  Hell, just look at the census!  So I conceed if they want to call themselves black americans that is their fun.  Personally it means a hell of a lot more to me when he is labeled/called a liberal/socialist.  His skin color does not affect me, but his ideology (given his position) sure as hell does.

Either way, I explained in detail what "Kenyan" actually means in a tribal sense. I used "Kenyan" here not as deescription of citizenship (what you call "nationality" but as a description for any member of any tribe that lives in Kenya, be they Bantu, Cushitic, or Nilotic.

Even "Palestinians" do not necessarily want to be ruled by Fatah or Hamas.
