Hi gang:
I have used windowblinds for a looong time now. There are always minor annoyances, however, at this point, I would really like to hopefully resolve them.
1) Ever since vista was first introduced, I have been hoping for a way for application that are excluded from being skinned by WB to "fall back" to the Aero themes. Is there a way to do that right now? I know there is an option to use the "Aero Frames" but there are 2 issues with that option: A) It forces all the window frames to use the Aero Theme; B ) Other UI elements are not changed to the "Aero Default."
I would love to know if it is possible to have applications that are set to be "ignored by WB" to be skinned completely (all UI elements included, like buttons, menus, title bar, etc.) by the Aero theme.
2) I am a long time user of UltraEdit. But using the latest UE v15.xx in Windows 7, WB 7 causes it to behave poorly. To be exact, when I have multiple files open in UE, normally I would be able to click on the tab that is associated with the file in UE and I could start working on that file. However, with WB 7 enabled, when I click on the tab for a different file, the sub-window frames contained w/in the main windows frame of UE seem to bug out.
It seems that on file switching, UE quickly "un maximize" the current file window, and then "re maximize" the new file window. With WB 7 enabled, the "re maximize" process seemed to be bugged out. To make matter worse, the "container parent frame" for all the "sub windows" of each file will be bugged out as well and everything in it will be incorrectly rendered. The end result is that I have to blindly click on different locations of the "parent frame" in hope of selecting the file that I wanted to edit.
3) Windows 7 brought its own set of nice "themes." But when I apply one of them while WB 7 is running ( I do this to make use of the cycling of background images associated with a particular Windows 7 theme, while using WB 7 skin for everything else). Sometimes the active windows that are skinned by WB 7 seem to "offset" their dimensions (for example, I cannot click on the "x" button to close the window, because the button is displaced). This is a minor issue though, since at worst, I just need to reapply the WB 7 again, but most of the time, a simple min/max -imizing of the active windows will fix their "offsets."
4) On my Win 7 64-bit machine, with a fresh install of WB 7, I consistently get WB 7 crashes from accessing the "windows 7 default theme" from within Windowblinds. I was able to apply the default theme (thus disabling WB 7) by quickly select it and hit "apply." But if I linger too long while having the "windows 7 default style" highlighted in WB 7, WB 7 will crash.
thanks for any help!
