Windowblinds 7 Bug?

Downloading Files....

When I try to download files from some websites, not all, some websites, I get the usual dialog box only it isn't skinned. OK, when this unskinned dialog happens, I can't download the file. I click save, or open, doesn't matter, the dialog disappears, no file. I have to unload windowblinds in order to get the file.

Some downloads don't do this, some do....I don't get it?

Windows 7 32 bit.

Did you change themes while that copy of IE was open or unload WB, or switch to WB from Aero?

Also do you have the latest update from Feb installed?

I unloaded WB 7 while the IE8 window was open, then was able to download the file. Switched from WB to Aero to download the file. This has been going on intermittently for a while now. I believe I mentioned it in the beta thread and I was not alone.

So far it seems intermittent. I think I was having it at DA. I'll try to see if there is a pattern.

OK, I had the problem downloading from Photobucket before I posted this, just now, I was able to download the same file, from the same site/link, with no problem. The dialog was skinned. When the dialog isn't skinned, the download won't happen. Unless I unload windowblinds.

I verified installation in impulse and it said that WB wasn't correctly installed....so I updated it, so far...ok.

OK, Neil...here it is again...I had to unload WB to get the file.

The url will take you to a site where you have to fill a form to download, so I made a screeny.

I tried that link and the windows were skinned correctly.

I think it may be related to a site you visited before the problem dialog.  Perhaps some addin loaded up in IE and has upset WB.

I told Jim how to fix that issue the other day, but he just won't listen.

 

Solution to IE/WB skinning problems: USE FIREFOX
