I know what you mean Nitro but I'm the kind of person who believes when you have family that can help, what better way to find an excuse to visit, spend time and appreciate family than taking advantage (in a good way i mean) of their skills? As for friends, I don't charge I just let them offer and I accept. Most people offer payments such as $20 or $40. I actually like fixing computers and don't mind being seen as the PC guy.
Something bad happens? I don't sweat it. Bad things happen between family one way or another. It's inevitable, but if I was to avoid helping others for fear of something going wrong I would lock myself up in my house and never see anyone again.
I want to prove to the world that we don't always need to have an incentive to help others. we don't need to expect something in return to give a hand. Why would I deprive myself of doing that which I like or love? My point is more of a common sense. If you have a cousin who's a mechanic, why go to another mechanic who charges you an arm and a leg? If you have an uncle who's a good dentist, why go to some other unknown dentist? There's too much separation within my families (both mine and my wifes) and I'm just looking for something that can bring us together. Perhaps those behind me may not be salvageable but maybe out children can be taught to keep the family together.
