I had been eyeing KHSM, but wasn't ready to jump for it since it didn't look like it had everything I wanted. That plus the mod you linked seem to do the trick. Thanks for the info!!
It took a while to get everything to work. The directory tree KH suggested for installing his mod didn't exist, and even though I was pretty sure I put it in the right spot I couldn't get it to work. After a couple of hours of fiddling (restarting, reloading, redownloading . . .) I discovered the "Enable Mod Usage" radio button on the options screen. Which, since I didn't have it checked, prevented the mod from running even though I had it selected. Kind of a stupid button, really . . .
