The FCC is finally trying to block something on televsion that i agree with.....LOUD COMERCIALS! There is nothing like watching your favorite TV show with the volume at a loud but reasonable setting, so you don't miss anything that's said but is not overwhelming your house. Then all of the suddon it goes to comercial and a comercial trying to market their product.
Now i understand why the companys do it. They do it to get your attention as part of their strategy along with the flashing colors and sex appeal. But there is a line that is crossed when the speakers on your television is boarder line blown out but the suddon increase in volume. Because of those loud comercials I've had to replace my LCD TV three times because the comercials cracked the speakers cone. That or SONY is useing some very cheap speakers in their expensive televisions.
The only other thing that i agree with that the FCC has done is the V-chip. Now all the restricting violence, language and sex from television I don't agree with. I think they should cut back on the restrictions greatly and tell the parents to use the V-chip and control what their children watch themselves.
It has gotten very old with so many people blaming what is on television for the "coruption" of our youth. Don't even get me started with what was/is said about video games. Video games, television shows and movies have ratings for a reason. For parents to know what to expect to find in the product. It is up to the parents to parent the youth and to teach then what is right and what is wrong.
Now i am not blaming the parents for whats wrong with the youth. But i am saying to make the decision about what your child can and cannot watch or play on TV. I,ve seen a kid beat up other kids because he seen it done in a movie. And I've heard kids talk about how they were cornered in a shoot-em up video game and he pulled out his rocket launcher and blew up every one of the bad guys in a bloody mess with his parents. And as far as i could tell they were your normal, average every day family. So if you want to see a diffrence in the youth and protect them it should be up to the parents to deal with the issue themselves. Instead of the FCC ruinning entertainment for the rest of us.
