So I am wondering what is the deal with Xeno Ethics? It seems like as soon as I learn it I stop getting random planet events (from colonizing or just for controling planets).
This seems a bit of an advantage if one would go good, afterall most of the time when you pick the "good" options you lose production, money, or at best get nothing. But if your going evil or neutal, or if your going to pay to be an alignment it turns into a very bad deal.
If one is planning on going neutral or evil, is it more usefull to not take xeno ethics? It seems like any research you might lose from going neutral is more then offset by exploiting a research planet, and likewise evil's weapons can be offset by a good +ship bonus planet. If one wanted they could even just wait until they got a bonus they liked and then afterwords build xeno ethics if they really wanted the mind control center or instant buying discount.
In the end then, isnt learning Xeno Ethics really a disadvantage for any allignment other then good? At least learning it anytime before right near the end of the game.. To me it seems like it should still let you make thoes choices, and just charge you a small fee for every choice you take that doesnt match your alignment..
